We can’t begin to tell you how excited we are to write this…… but we are back (more shocking is we remembered our user name and password ). Last weekend we finally got around to unburying “Stig” our 1973 Westfalia Continental Bay which we were probably 2/3rds of the way through restoring when life got in the way - about 12 years ago - but we are back and so is he, and more to the point this time we are around until he is finished (and beyond)! A quick look at the Forum shows us there are still some familiar names around which is great to see, and we look forward to catching up with old and new faces! Now the shell is unburied again, in between going through the boxes of parts and welding etc we will find our original thread and get it updated as we go! But …… the paint has been ordered……. And we are ………. Mr and Mrs B
Oh my days - How are you? Just don’t!!! Not going to even begin to try and explain what’s happened in those 12 years - you wouldn’t believe us if we did! The good news is we aren’t starting a complete resto again after all these years. We have looked after it well and our work has held up. So with a bit of bare metalling we will be well away and back to where we were at, the worst bit was finding where we were at (not getting frustrated with ourselves for being so close to finishing it previously) and now remembering what box has what in and what have we got and where is it and what do we need as can’t afford to buy it again if already have it - especially at todays prices for panels etc, having also moved house 5 times in that period as well it will be nice not storing his original interior under the bed and in every spare dry space we have - that one day …. Is a big step closer! ❤️
Thank you.If we can’t then we are sure the powerful knowledge and kind people on here will be able to assist - we are also looking forward to the progress on these last few stages and finally having “Stig” on the road again …… on the road again ….
Hmm maybe not a “Classic Choice” and we did give ourselves a bit of a fright when we googled our choice 4 hours after ordering and it brought up a very different colour to what we thought we had ordered - quick phone call to the paint shop and sort of put our minds at ease guess we will find out when it comes to painting
